Types of French Roulette Bets
Most roulette players would play either the American roulette wheel or the European roulette wheel, as these two are the most common types. However, what most roulette players do not know is there is still another type of wheel, and it is quite intimidating if you are not familiar to it.
It is the French roulette wheel. This type of wheel do have complex and multiple kind of bets that you can use. Generally, the croupier will be the one to place the chips rather than doing it yourself. Do not be alarmed by this. The rules of French roulette are quite simple as compared to the two types and even though you are not yet very familiar with this kind of game, still you can begin playing the game and you'll get the feel of it in the long run. French roulette do have difference kind of bets that you can choose from depending on your preference and which one of them is more effective for you.
The first is the douzaine or the dozen bet. As the name says it, a player bets on any given consecutive sequence of twelve numbers on the wheel. Say for instance, a player bets on the numbers 1 to 12, 13 to 24, or 24 to 36. The number zero is excluded in this kind of bet.
Another one is the colonne or the column bet. This are the numbers found in the vertical column of the roulette wheel. In this, a player bets on three columns of twelve numbers. Generally, this will give you about 1:3 winning chance or about 32.4%. Outside bet are bets made outside the wheel. It includes the numbers on the black or red and even or odd. While the split bet are bets made inside the wheel two numbers adjacent to each other. In this kind of bet, the chip must be placed on the thin line of the wheel separating the two chosen numbers.
Square bet is a bet made on any four given numbers creating a square patter. The roulette chips is usually placed on the vertical or horizontal intersection of the numbers. This is also known as the corner bet. The Street bet is an inside bet made on the street, which is composed by any numbers in the horizontal row. In here, the roulette chip is placed outside the line. You can do this yourself, or if you cannot reach the number that you want, the croupier can do it for you. There are still a lot of French roulette bets, but these are the most common ones.
